One Arrested, One Cited After Suspicious Vehicle Report

An Oelwein teen is being cited after authorities received a report of a suspicious vehicle.

The Fayette County Sheriff got the call at about 1am Monday (March 5) about a suspicious vehicle in the 1200 block of Neon Road, east of Oelwein.

A deputy found the vehicle, stopping it at 18th Street, just southeast of Oelwein. The driver, 18 year old Amojean Stevenson of Oelwein, was charged with violation of an instructional permit.

A passenger, 20 year old Derek Factor of New Hampton, was taken into custody on a Fayette County warrant for Failure to Appear. His original charge was Driving While his License is Suspended.

Stevenson was cited and released, while Factor was taken to the Fayette County jail.
