
One Arrested, More Charges Pending in Business Theft Incident
One person has been arrested and more charges are expected from an incident at a Northeast Iowa business.
At about 8:30pm Thursday, the Fayette County Sheriff's office received a 911 call, reporting 2 people who were stealing items from the "Gas-N-Goods" store in Hawkeye.
The individuals took off running out of the store after getting into an argument with the attendant.
After an investigation involving multiple interviews, 21 year old Kyler Carnes of New Hampton was arrested and charged with aid and abet to burglary in the second degree, a felony, and aid and abet to theft in the 4th degree, a misdemeanor.
Carnes was taken to the Fayette County jail to await a court appearance.
The investigation remains open and more charges are pending.
The Chickasaw County Sheriff's office is assisting.
