Oelwein Police Respond to Accident, Plus 2 Arrests
An area motorist is being charged with causing a 2-vehicle accident in Oelwein.
It happened at about 7:30am Wednesday (April 5) at the intersection of 25th Street and "Q" Avenue, on the south side of Oelwein. A pickup driven by Logan Blue collided with a truck driven by Richard Kleitsch. No injuries were reported. Blue was charged with Failure to Yield.
An Oelwein man has been arrested on an outstanding warrant. Just before 10pm Tuesday, Oelwein Police took 32 year old Adam Nielsen into custody following an incident in the 700 block of 1st Avenue SE. Nielsen was wanted on a Fayette County warrant on the charge of Failure to Appear, to answer to a charge of Theft 5th degree. He was also charged with Interference with Official Acts.
And 35 year old Joseph Barker of Oelwein was arrested Tuesday afternoon, after a traffic stop in the 10 block of 10th Avenue SW. Barker was charged with Prohibited Acts, Possession of Methamphetamine-3rd Offense, Driving While License is Suspended, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
