The Oelwein Police Department is reporting several recent arrests in the city.

Oelwein Police have arrested two people following a traffic stop early Sunday (Aug. 16). Shortly after 3am, officers pulled over a car in the 400 block of North Frederick in Oelwein. During the stop, they arrested 20 year old Anabelle Boatman of Hiawatha on a charge of OWI 1st Offense. They also arrested 18 year old Dedric Arnold of Cedar Rapids for Domestic Assault and Disorderly Conduct.

An Oelwein man, 35 year old David Staake, was taken into custody late Sunday night, on a Fayette County warrant for Theft 2nd Degree.

Oelwein Police took a local woman into custody Friday night after an incident in the 300 block of 7th Avenue SW. 31 year old Kelli Frank of Oelwein is charged with Public Intoxication.

A local woman was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon for a warrant for Assault Causing Injury. 34 year old Karma Padget-Strempke was arrested at the Oelwein Police Department.

An Oelwein man, 37 year old Justin Gallmeyer, was arrested August 9th on charges of Possession of Firearms by a Felon, and Interference with Official Acts. The arrest was made in the 800 block of 4th Street SW.

And Oelwein Police are investigating a burglary. The break-in was reported August 9th in the 10 block of 3rd Avenue SE.
