Oelwein Police Report Recent Arrests and Traffic Stops

Oelwein Police have arrested 2 local men on outstanding warrants.

On Tuesday (July 16) at about 10:30am, after an encounter with police in the 500 block of West Charles, 35 year old Kurtis Shasteen was taken into custody. Shasteen was wanted on a Fayette County warrant for Theft in the 5th Degree.

At about 3:30pm Monday, 42 year old Jeramy Warren of Oelwein, was arrested in the 10 block of 3rd Avenue NE. He was wanted on a Fayette County warrant for Failure to Appear for a Probation Revocation Hearing.

Oelwein Police have cited 2 area motorists following traffic stops this week. Shortly after 1pm Tuesday, officers pulled over a vehicle in the 10 block of 3rd Avenue NW. The driver, 48 year old Jennifer Burco of Sumner, was ticketed for Driving While her License is suspended.

And just after 4:30pm Monday, police cited a driver in the 10 block of East Charles. 34 year old Melissa Newman of Oelwein was cited for Driving While her License is Suspended.
