A Westgate man has been arrested on drug and other charges.

At about 3:45pm Friday (May 3), Oelwein Police pulled over a vehicle in the 100 block of East Charles. The driver, 61 year old David Leyh, was taken into custody for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Paraphernalia, Driving While his License is Suspended, and No Insurance.

An Oelwein man was arrested shortly after midnight Sunday, after a traffic stop in the 10 block of 6th Avenue NW. A passenger, 32 year old Jeffery Wilson, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for Driving While his License is Barred.

In another traffic stop early Sunday, at the intersection of 20th Street SE and Highway 150, 28 year old Michaella Green of Oelwein was arrested on charges of Operating While Intoxicated, and Speeding.

An Oelwein man was taken into custody late Sunday night, on a Fayette County warrant. 24 year old Jacob Snay was wanted on an original charge of Theft 5th Degree. The arrest came about because of an earlier interaction officers had with Snay, at the intersection of East Charles and South Frederick.

Oelwein Police are also investigating 2 incidents of criminal mischief. The first one was reported Saturday afternoon in the 200 block of 4th Street SW. The second vandalism was reported early Sunday in the 300 block of West Charles.
