Oelwein Police Make Various Weekend Arrests

The Oelwein Police Department reports an accident in the city over the weekend, involving a deer.

It happened at about 8:45pm Saturday (June 3), at the intersection of Highway 150 and 10th Street. A car driven by Dawn Lammers struck a deer in the road. No injuries were reported.

Police have arrested a local man following a traffic accident. Oelwein Police were called to the accident shortly after 11pm Saturday, in the 2100 block of South Frederick Avenue. Following an investigation, the driver, 64 year old Daniel Funk of Oelwein, was taken into custody for Operating While Intoxicated-1st Offense.

A Maynard man has been arrested on an outstanding warrant. On Friday (June 2), Oelwein police arrested 19 year old Austin Peters in the 1500 block of South Frederick, on a Bremer County warrant for Failure to Appear in Court for an OWI charge.

And police made a drug-related arrest during a traffic stop in Oelwein. At about 8:30pm Friday, officers pulled over a car at the intersection of 20th Street and Outer Road. Sarah Fuller was taken into custody for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
