Oelwein Police Crack Down on Nuisance Properties
Residents of Oelwein may notice officers from the Oelwein Police Department canvassing neighborhoods, in an effort to help clean up the city.
The canvas will begin this Sunday, Aug. 4th; police will be checking for nuisance abatement violations.
The officers will be checking each of the four city quandrants, then notify a property owner if their land needs to be picked up or cleaned up.
If the problem is not addressed within a certain time period, the land owner would be cited.
Some of the violations police will be looking for include:
garbage, tree branches and yard waste, old appliances, junk vehicles, and dilapidated furniture.
