Oelwein Police Arrest Local Man on a Warrant

A local man has been arrested on an outstanding warrant for a court violation.

At about 6:45pm Thursday (Sept. 27), Oelwein Police took 47 year old Dennis Slifer of Oelwein into custody, in the 800 block of North Frederick Avenue.

Slifer was wanted on a Fayette County warrant for the original charge of Violation of a No-Contact Order.

Oelwein Police are also investigating a theft incident. Just before 2pm Thursday, police were notified of a theft in the 800 block of 5th Street SE. No other information was given out.
