Oelwein Police Arrest Local Man After a Brief Pursuit

An Oelwein man has been taken into custody, after leading the local police force on a short chase.

At about 8:30am Wednesday (May 1), Oelwein Police attempted to stop a vehicle in the 1300 block of South Frederick Avenue.

The pursuit ended in the parking area of Parkview Motel, on South Frederick.

The driver, 53 year old Timothy Kearns of Oelwein, was arrested on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Eluding, Driving While his License is Suspended, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
