Oelwein Police have arrested two local residents on outstanding warrants.
At about 8pm Tuesday (March 22), 44 year old Dwight Davis of Oelwein was taken into custody in the 200 block of 4th Avenue NW on a Black Hawk County warrant for going armed with intent.
Just before 8:30pm Monday, 24 year old Tyler Thompson of Oelwein was arrested in the 100 block of 4th Street SW on a Fayette County warrant for prohibited acts.

Oelwein Police have also released more information on a weekend accident that damaged a local business.
At about noon Sunday (March 20), officers were called to Country Cottage Cafe on South Frederick Avenue, where a minivan driven by 90 year old Raymond Faist of Oelwein struck the front of the restaurant. Faist was not hurt, but 3 or 4 people inside the restaurant were treated for minor injuries.
There was $4,000 damage to the 2000 Ford Windstar van, and $12,500 damage to the building.
