Oelwein P.D. Handles Arrest, Vandalism, Theft, and Accident

An Oelwein man faces several charges following a weekend incident.

Oelwein police were called out to a disturbance Sunday (April 24) in the 200 block of 3rd Avenue SE. After investigating, 51 year old Jeffrey Woods was taken into custody for enhanced public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and interference with official acts.

Authorities are looking into a criminal mischief complaint. Oelwein police received the report at about 7:30pm Sunday (April 24) from the 300 block of 2nd Avenue NE. No charges have been filed.

Oelwein police are also investigating a theft, which was reported just before 11:30am Saturday (April 23), from the 500 block of 6th Avenue SE. No other information was available.

And officers were called out to a motor vehicle accident Sunday (April 24) at the intersection of 12th Street and Highway 150. An SUV driven collided with a deer. The 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer had over $1500 in damages. The name of the driver was not released, and no injuries were reported.
