Oelwein Man Busted for Pot, Another Man for OWI
A local man has been arrested by Oelwein Police early this (Monday, May 10) morning, for illegal drugs.
At about 2am, officers took 34 year old Joel Young of Oelwein, into custody, following an incident in the 100 block of 1st Avenue SW. Young was wanted on a Fayette County warrant for the original charge of Possession of a controlled substance-marijuana, 3rd or subsequent offense.
At about 12:15am Saturday, 40 year old John Wright of Oelwein was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated-2nd Offense. The arrest was made after a traffic stop in the 200 block of West Charles.
And Oelwein Police received a report of a theft Friday morning at 11am, in the 500 block of Highway 150 South. The theft is still under investigation.
