Oelwein Man Arrested on Warrants for Theft and Burglary

Oelwein Police have arrested a local man, on a Buchanan County warrant for burglary and theft charges.

Shortly after 8:30pm Wednesday (July 24), officers had an interaction with 57 year old David Smith of Oelwein, in the 100 block of 8th avenue. Smith was wanted on a Buchanan County warrant for Theft-2nd Degree, Burglary-3rd Degree, and Criminal Mischief-4th Degree.

At about 7:30pm Wednesday, Oelwein Officers cited 35 year old Ryan Dunn for Failure to Abate as Ordered, on a property in the 500 block of North Frederick.

And Oelwein Police are investigating vandalism on the west side of town. At about 12 noon Wednesday, officers were called out to a Criminal Mischief incident in the 1300 block of West Charles.
