
Oelwein Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant
Authorities have arrested a local man on an outstanding warrant.
Shortly after 12noon Saturday (Sept. 9), Oelwein Police took 24 year old William Newton of Oelwein, into custody.
Newton was wanted on a Fayette County warrant for a Probation Violation. The original charges were Burglary-2nd Degree, and False Imprisonment.
Newton was arrested after interacting with a police officer in the 100 block of 13th Avenue SE in Oelwein.

And Oelwein Police were called out to a weekend traffic accident involving a deer. It happened Saturday in the 2600 block of South Frederick Avenue. A car driven by Christina Hartley collided with a deer. No injuries were reported.
