Oelwein Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant for Assault

An Oelwein man has been arrested on a warrant for assault.

Shortly after 10pm Monday (Aug. 26), Oelwein Police took 21 year old James Miller into custody, on a Delaware County warrant for Domestic Abuse Assault. The arrest was made in the 800 block of 3rd Avenue NE.

A motorist from Oelwein is cited for a traffic violation. At about 8:30am Monday, police pulled over a vehicle at the intersection of 10th Street and Highway 150. The driver, 47 year old James Pierce, was cited for Driving While His License is Suspended.

On Sunday, Oelwein Police were called out to investigate criminal mischief in the 1,000 block of South Frederick and the 300 block of 5th Avenue SE, and a burglary in the 500 block of South Frederick.

And an Oelwein man was arrested after a traffic stop in the 300 block of 7th Avenue SW, Saturday at about 9pm. The driver, 53 year old Bennie Dillard, was charged with Driving While his License is Suspended.
