Oelwein Man Arrested for Serious Injuries to a Child
An Oelwein man has been arrested, after authorities investigated an incident involving serious injuries to a child last month (July).
The Oelwein Police Department conducted the investigation in the July 17th incident, and a criminal complaint was filed with the Fayette County Clerk of Court on July 29th.
As a result, 21 year old Jowayne Marquist Phillips of Oelwein was taken into custody on July 31st, for an arrest warrant on the charge of Child Endangerment Resulting in Serious Injury to a Child.
Phillips was taken to the Fayette County jail, where he was held on $20,000 bond.
The Oelwein Police Department was assisted by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations.
