Oelwein Couple Arrested on Multiple Charges

An Oelwein couple has been arrested in a weekend incident in Buchanan County, while a Dubuque man was also busted for an arrest warrant.

Shortly after 2:30am Saturday (April 25), 31 year old Raquel Bowser and 24 year old Dru Bowser, both of Oelwein, were taken into custody in the 100 block of First Street North in Independence.

Raquel was charged with second degree Theft, third degree Burglary, fifth degree Criminal Mischief and Trespass.

Dru was charged with second degree Theft, third degree Burglary, fifth degree Criminal Mischief, Trespass, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

In a separate incident, at about 11:30pm Saturday, Buchanan County deputies took 24 year old Christopher Melka of Dubuque into custody for active arrest warrants from Buchanan County for Failure to Appear, and a Probation Violation.

Melka was arrested in the 1100 block of Second Street NE in Independence. Independence Police assisted the sheriff.
