Northeast Iowa will be forced to deal with another round of dangerously cold wind chills through Tuesday (Jan. 15, 2018).

Another Arctic blast has made its way to Iowa, and it will be producing very cold temperatures today through Tuesday. Coupled with strong winds, we will have to endure another round of dangerously cold wind chills.

A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect for the area through noon Tuesday for a large portion of northeast Iowa. Very cold wind chills are expected. The cold wind chills can cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin. Expect wind chills to range from five below zero to 30 below zero.

A portion of the area is also dealing with a Winter Weather Advisory until noon today. A fast moving storm system is impacting east-central Iowa that has dropped one to two inches of snow so far. Another half inch to one-plus inches are still possible before ending this morning. Blowing and drifting snow is expected, and wind chills ranging from five below zero to 30 below zero.
