The identity of the new Oelwein Community School superintendent may be announced Saturday.

The Oelwein Community school board has scheduled a special meeting for 11am Saturday (March 18) at the school administration office.

Only one item is on the agenda: select a superintendent finalist, and offer a contract to the new superintendent.

Earlier this week, four finalists for the position interviewed and visited with the school board, focus groups, and community members.

Those finalists are: Dave Hoeger, the principal at Western Dubuque High School in Peosta; Dr. Daniel Frazier, superintendent at the Litchfield Minnesota school district; Patrick Bollman, the principal at Briggs Elementary in Maquoketa; and Oelwein High School principal Josh Ehn.

The search was conducted after current superintendent Dan Diercks submitted his resignation.
