New School Super May be Chosen Tonight
The Oelwein Community School Board has scheduled a special meeting tonight (March 17) regarding the choice for a new school superintendent.
Current head administrator Dan Diercks tendered his resignation, effective at the end of July. No reason was given for his departure.
Each day this week, Monday through Thursday, the Oelwein School board, focus groups and community have had a chance to interview and visit with the four finalists for the post.
The finalists are: Dave Hoeger, the principal at Western Dubuque High School in Peosta; Dr. Daniel Frazier, superintendent at the Litchfield Minnesota school district; Patrick Bollman, the principal at Briggs Elementary in Maquoketa; and Oelwein High School principal Josh Ehn
Josh is the last one to be interviewed, which will be held from 4:30 to 5:30pm this evening, at the RAMS center in Oelwein.
At 7pm, the board will go into closed session and discuss hiring their choice for new superintendent of schools.
