NEW HAMPTON, Iowa (AP) — A northeast Iowa man arrested after an armed standoff with officers has pleaded not guilty to a kidnapping charge.

35-year-old Landon Riley, of Fredericksburg, is scheduled to go on trial Oct. 28 in Chickasaw County District Court. He was arrested on Aug. 11 in Fredericksburg.

Authorities say officers responding to a call about a domestic incident found Riley pointing a gun at someone's head and threatening to kill the person. Riley was peacefully arrested after a brief standoff with the officers.
