A Brandon man, accused of choking and beating his live-in girlfriend, has been sentenced to five years in prison.

47 year old Todd Mollenhauer had accepted a plea deal in December, by pleading guilty to two counts of domestic abuse assault impeding air or blood flow. He had also previously been charged with attempted murder and willful injury resulting in serious injury.

Mollenhauer allegedly grabbed the throat of Kelli Seeman and punched her in the face. According to court documents, he also knocked her down and kicked her several times while wearing steel-toe motocross boots. Seeman sustained numerous injuries in the attacks; the incidents happened two times in September of 2013.

On Tuesday, Mollenhauer was sentenced to five years in prison and fined $5,000 on each count. The fines were suspended, and the prison terms were ordered to run concurrent.

Mollenhauer was also ordered to pay victim restitution and have no contact with the victim for five years.
