NE Iowan Arrested After Gun Threats, Standoff
DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) — A Dubuque man accused of threatening his wife with a gun and shooting at two others has been taken into custody following a two-hour standoff with law enforcement.
Online court records show 59-year-old Richard Hos was arrested Wednesday and charged with domestic abuse while displaying a weapon and reckless use of a firearm. Court documents don't yet list an attorney for Hos who could comment on the charges.
The Dubuque County Sheriff's Office says Hos on Sunday waved a handgun toward his wife's head inside their home. Hos later drove a tractor around the area while firing several shots.
Authorities say Hos then barricaded himself inside. He was coaxed out after two hours of negotiations and taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
