NE Iowa Woman Jailed for Assaulting a Deputy

A Northeast Iowa woman faces charges for allegedly assaulting a law enforcement officer.

The incident happened at about 11:30pm Saturday (Jan. 4), at a residence in Elgin.

Fayette County deputies were called to the home to investigate a disturbance.

During the investigation, one of the deputies was assaulted by 32 year old Laura Valentine of Elgin.

Valentine was arrested on a charge of Assault on a Peace Officer.

Valentine was held in the Fayette County jail, until her initial court appearance.
