NE Iowa Trucker Charged in Traffic Accident

A Wadena truck driver is being charged with causing a two-vehicle accident that put one person in the hospital.

On Friday, the Fayette County Sheriff got a report of an accident at the intersection of 210 Street and Highway 150, just south of West Union.

A Freightliner truck driven by 21 year old Garret Barrack, was trying to coss the highway, but in the process, struck a southbound SUV driven by 41 year old Isidora Luther of LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

Luther was taken to the West Union hospital with minor injuries. Her vehicle was totaled. The truck had $2,500 in damage.

Barrack was charged with failure to yield the right of way and failure to obey a stop sign. He was not injured.
