NE Iowa Resident Dies When his Motorcycle Hits a Horse
A Northeast Iowa man has died in an accident in which his motorcycle crashed into a horse, in nearby Southeast Minnesota.
The Fillmore County Sheriff received a 911 call reporting the accident at about 11:30am Friday (June 1) on Highway 44, west of Mabel, Minnesota. An eastbound motorcycle operated by a 60 year old man from Decorah, struck a horse that was in the eastbound lane of the highway.
The driver, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The horse also died.
The accident remains under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol, with assistance from the Fillmore County Sheriff.
