HOLY CROSS, Iowa (AP) — A 25-year-old Dubuque man was arrested and charged after his passenger died in a crash.

Online court records say Alexander Engling is charged with operating while intoxicated. The records don't list the name of an attorney who could be contacted to comment about the case on Engling's behalf.

The crash occurred about 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Holy Cross. The Dubuque County Sheriff's Office says Engling lost control of his vehicle, which entered a ditch and overturned.

His passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The Sheriff's Office identified him as 30-year-old John Crook, of Holy Cross.
