NE Iowa Man May Get 10 Years for Sex Assault of a Young Girl
A Northeast Iowa man faces up to ten years behind bars for allegedly sexually abusing a young girl.
28 year old Anthony Carroll of Dubuque has pleaded guilty in Dubuque County District Court to a charge of 3rd degree sexual abuse.
The incidents happened in August of 2018. Carroll allegedly used a knife to pick the lock on a bedroom door, then sexually assaulted the girl, who was younger than 15 years old. Carroll had apparently committed this crime multiple times.
Initially Carroll denied sexual contact with the girl, however authorities found his DNA at the scene.
Prosecutors of the case are recommending that Carroll be sentenced to 10 years in prison.
