NE Iowa Man Leads Police on Chase in Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) — A Dubuque man accused of leading police on a chase through several West End neighborhoods has been arrested.

25-year-old Jimmane Pittman of Dubuque was arrested Wednesday morning on suspicion of eluding, interference with official acts and possession of marijuana. According to a news release, a Dubuque police officer attempted to stop Pittman because the officer knew he had a five-day jail sentence to serve for other charges.

The news release says Pittman refused to stop and a pursuit ensued, but police disengaged as he drove into a residential area.
Pittman's vehicle was later found unoccupied. The original pursuing officer located the suspect walking in the area, and he was apprehended after a brief foot chase.

A court appearance for Pittman is scheduled for Thursday.
