A West Union man could face up to 15 years in prison if he is convicted of a burglary charge.

The Fayette County Sheriff arrested 44 year old Jason Fairchild on Friday (Aug. 24) on a warrant for Burglary in the 1st Degree. Fairchild also had warrants for Probation/Parole violations, which stem from an investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office. Fairchild was held in the Fayette County jail on $25,000 cash bond.

Two young Northeast Iowans are being charged with theft from Country View Dairy, located west of West Union. An investigation revealed that 18 year old Kyrsten Brummond of New Hampton and a juvenile girl from Charles City, had gone into the business several times over the past few weeks, to allegedly steal money. Brummond is being charged with several counts of Theft in the 5th Degree; she was held in jail until an appearance before a judge. The minor girl was referred to Juvenile Court Services for Theft in the 5th Degree. The investigation continues, and more charges may be filed.
