A Northeast Iowa man has been arrested and could face more than five years in prison, for allegedly sexually exploiting minors.

After a 2 month investigation, the Fayette County Sheriff executed a search warrant for a possible sexual exploitation of a minor case.

The sheriff was assisted by the Department of Public Safety-Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, as well as the Department of Human Services.

Authorities discovered that 36 year old Shawn Kuhse of Wadena was in possession of images that sexually exploited minors. A search warrant was executed on Wednesday (April 24), and evidence was seized that will be taken to the ICAC computer forensic examiner.

Kuhse was taken to the Fayette County jail on charges of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

If he is convicted, Kuhse could be sentenced to over five years in prison, and will be placed on the state sex offender registry.

The case remains under investigation, and more charges are pending.
