NE Iowa Granary Destroyed by Fire
A fire has destroyed a Northeast Iowa granary.
Firefighters were called out late Friday afternoon to the Scott Heinz property in rural Charles City.
The granary apparently caught fire due to an electrical malfunction. The facility was totaled, but fire crews were able to keep the blaze from spreading to nearby grain bins on the property.
No one was injured. Firefighters were at the scene for about 3 hours, then returned to douse a flare-up shortly after 10pm.
