Authorities are looking for the cause of an early morning fire, that destroyed a Northeast Iowa bowling alley.


Cascade firefighters were called out just after 2:30am today (Thursday, Aug. 15), to Cascade Lanes, located on 1st Avenue in Cascade.

The blaze appeared to have started in the bar, and spread to the bowling lanes; the building was a total loss. No one was inside, and there were no injuries.

Fire fighters from Cascade, Bernard, and Monticello in Dubuque County, were at the scene for several hours.

The origin of the blaze remains under investigation.
