
NE Iowa Accidents Involving Deer
The Fayette County Sheriff reports a few more car vs deer accidents. The latest happened today (Tuesday) just before 7:30am, on Highway 150, just north of Fayette. A car driven by Susan Winter of West Union, was southbound when a deer entered the road and was struck. No one was injured, but there was $5,000 in damage.
At about 6:30pm Saturday, a car driven by 58 year old Susan Martin of Fayette was driving North on "P" Avenue, south of Maynard, when a deer ran out onto the road and struck her vehicle. No one was injured, but there wwas $4,000 in damage.
Also on Saturday, at about 11pm, a van driven by 40 year old Aaron Schmidt of Waucoma collided with a deer at the intersection of Usher Road on 290th Street, a half mile south of Waucoma. No one was hurt, and damage was minimal.
At about 8am Friday, southwest of Maynard, a car driven by 41 year old Gail Rhineberger-Dunn of Fayette hit a deer in the road. Dunn was not hurt, and there was $2,000 in damage.
And last Thursday, around 3pm, a pickup driven by 16 year old Jon Michael of Sumner hit a deer south of Westgate; again, no injuries, and damages totaled $1500.
