NE Iowa Accident Kills Woman, Child

BERNARD, Iowa (AP) — Two people, including a 2-year-old boy, have been killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash near Bernard in eastern Iowa.

20-year-old Elaine Edwards and 2-year-old Joseph Edwards, both of Bernard, died in the Friday evening crash.

The Iowa State Patrol report on the crash does not detail the relationship between Edwards and the boy.

The report says Edwards was driving a pickup northbound on 86th Avenue when she lost control while traveling down a hill. The truck then hit a railing and rolled, landing on its top in a creek.
