NE Iowa Accident Kills Illinois Motorcyclist

A motorcycle accident in Jackson County has taken the life of an Illinois woman.

It happened just before 1pm Sunday at the intersection of two county roads northwest of Maquoketa.

51 year old Marcia Atchison of Alpha, Illionis, had just turned off Y-31 onto E-17, when her cycle crossed the center line and was struck by an SUV driven by 38 year old Dwaine Burken of Baldwin.

Atchison was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Jackson County sheriff assisted the Iowa State Patrol in the investigation.
