Authorities have now released the name of the victim in a two-vehicle fatality accident, south of Clarksville.


The Iowa State Patrol reports that the accident happened Wednesday at about 10:30pm, at the intersection of Highway 3 and Ridge Avenue in Butler County.

A car driven by 22 year old Ariel Murillo of Hampton, went through the stop sign and was struck by a minivan driven by 24 year old Fernando Barragan-Barajas of Houston Texas.

Both vehicles then went into the ditch.

A passenger in the minivan, 26 year old Juan Murillo of Hampton, died of his injuries.
Two other passengers in the vehicles, were taken to the Waverly hospital to be treated for unspecified injuries.

The State Patrol was assisted by the Butler County Sheriff, Clarksville Police, and EMS workers.
