Name of Farm Fatal in Allamakee County is Released

We now know the name of a man killed in a weekend farm accident in Allamakee County.

The sheriff and other emergency personnel were called out shortly after 3pm Saturday (Dec. 8), on the report of a farm accident near Dorchester.

The victim, 83 year old Ernest Gavle of rural Dorchester, was pinned under the tire of a tractor.

Authorities determined that Gavle had been run over by his tractor, and died as a result of his injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by the Allamakee County Sheriff. The sheriff was assisted at the scene by Spring Grove Fire Department, Spring Grove Ambulance Service and Veterans Memorial Hospital Ambulance Service.
