
Motorist Drives Pickup Into a House After Medical Episode
The Buchanan County Sheriff's Office reports that a Jesup motorist is being charged, after he crashed his pickup into a building.
The accident occurred at about 4:30pm on March 23rd, in the 1600 block of 220th Street, west of Independence.
A pickup driven by Christopher Burckhart, went into a ditch, going through a residential yard, and a grove of trees, before colliding with the building.
Burckhart noted that he had suffered a suspected a medical episode prior to the accident. He was taken to the Independence hospital, to be treated for minor injuries. A passenger was not hurt.

There was $8,500 damage to the pickup and $35,000 worth of damage to the building.
Burckhart has now been charged with Failure to have a Valid Driver's License, and Failure to have Insurance.
The Independence Fire Department and Area Ambulance assisted the Buchanan County Sheriff at the scene.
