Motorist Charged with Rear-ending Another Vehicle

A Hazleton motorist is being charged with causing a two-vehicle accident in Buchanan County.

It happened just before 10am Friday (April 15) at the intersection of HIghway 150 and Otterville Road, just north of Independence.

A vehicle driven by Wanda Duggan of Independence was northbound on 150, when she slowed to make a left turn.

An SUV behind Duggan, driven by Patricia Matthews of Hazleton, could not stop in time. and rear-ended the other vehicle.

No one was injured.

Matthews is charged with failure to stop in an assured, clear distance.
