A traffic stop for a speeding motorcycle in Fayette County has resulted in the arrest of a Colesburg man on several charges, plus an outstanding warrant.


At about 1:45am Monday (Aug. 3), a Fayette County Sheriff's deputy pulled over a motorcycle for speeding, on Highway 3, 5 miles east of Oelwein.

The officer discovered that the motorcyclist, 30 year old Augustin Mormann, was driving with a barred license.

Mormann was initially charged with Driving While Barred, Failure to Have SR22 Insurance, Fraudulent Registration, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Authorities also discovered that Mormann was wanted on a valid Clayton County warrant for Driving While Barred, and Possession of Methamphetamine, with a bond set at $5,000, cash only.

Mormann was being held in the Fayette County jail until his initial court appearance.
