
Motorcycle Runs Into Heavy Equipment, Driver Seriously Hurt
Authorities are investigating a traffic accident in which a motorcyclist was seriously injured when his bike collided with a piece of construction equipment.
The accident happened at about 8:30pm Monday (April 26) at the intersection of Williams Boulevard and Prairie Avenue in Fairfax.

A truck driven by 63 year old Rex Hamilton of Marion, was pulling a trailer loaded with paving equipment when he crashed into a construction barrier. A piece of equipment fell off the trailer, landing on the southbound lane of traffic.
A motorcycle driven by 25 year old Jordan Brown of Fairfax, hit the equipment in the road and went out of control. Brown fell off the bike onto the street; he was taken to University Hospitals in Iowa City by LifeGuard Air Ambulance.
According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, which is investigating the accident, Brown was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
