Motorcycle Accident with Deer Turns Fatal

A Northeast Iowa woman, injured in a motorcycle accident involving a deer last weekend, has now died of her injuries.

The accident happened Sunday at about 7pm in Chickasaw County.

63 year old Sharon Rowe of Riceville was a passenger on a motorcycle operated by 64 year old Jerry Dahly of Riceville, that was westbound on 110th Street, just west of Alta Vista. A deer ran out onto the roadway, colliding with their Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Dahly lost control of the motorcycle, and both riders were ejected.

Rowe was taken by ambulance to Mayo hospital; Dahly was airlifted to Mercy in New Hampton.

According to Hindt Funeral home, Rowe died of her injuries on Wednesday in Mason City.

No information has been released on Dahly's medical condition.

The accident was investigated by the Iowa State Patrol.
