MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (AP) — Marshalltown police have arrested and charged two people following accusations they helped a murder suspect elude police.

Bethany Leigh Brant of Marshalltown has been charged with accessory after the fact and neglect of a dependent person.

Police say she allowed Jose Enrique Morales, who's charged with first-degree murder in the Jan. 17 fatal shooting of Dedrikk Montrell Fisher, to stay at her house while authorities looked for him. They say her actions also endangered a child.

Francisco Padilla-Galvez of Nevada is charged with accessory after the fact. Police say he helped Morales hide evidence in connection with the murder case.

Authorities say they're still investigating what led to the fatal shooting. Online court records didn't show an attorney for the suspects.
