A man reported missing from a Northeast Iowa residential center, has now been found.
61 year old Elmer Lappe of Cedar Rapids, had been living at the Penn Center Residential Treatment Facility in Delhi.

Lappe turned up missing late Thursday afternoon; he had been described as possibly disoriented. Lappe did not return, so authorities began a search of the area around Delhi.

Early Friday morning, the sheriff was alerted that Lappe had been picked up by a motorist, who was told Lappe had permission to leave; he was then driven to Cedar Rapids, where Lappe has relatives.

Lappe was then taken back into custody. There is no word on whether he was taken back to the residential center in Delhi.
