Maynard Man Charged in Accident

A Maynard man is being charged with causing a 2 vehicle accident in Maynard.

It happened at about 11am Friday, at the intersection of East Street and East Main. A pickup driven by Daniel Howard stopped, then proceeded to cross East Main. Howard apparently did not see another vehicle approaching, and collided with the car, driven by Pamela Vanhyfte of Maynard.

No injuries were reported, but there was $5,000 damage to Howard's pickup, and Vanhyfte's car was totaled.

Howard has been charged with failure to yield upon entering a through roadway.

The accident was investigated by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
