A Good Samaritan helping another driver push a car out of a ditch, is trapped under the car when it was hit by another vehicle.

The accident happened in rural Fayette County, shortly after 3pm Saturday (March 9), just west of Arlington, on county road W-45. The Fayette County Sheriff received a report of an accident involving the entrapment of man, underneath a vehicle.

63 year old Danny Rosburg was in the process of helping 63 year old Darrell Cushion push his car out of the ditch; Cushion's vehicle had slid off the snow and ice covered road.

Another car, driven by 62 year old Lola Twaites, entered that same ditch, striking Cushion's car, pushing into Rosburg, trapping him under Cushion's car.

After Rosburg was extricated from under the vehicle, he was evaluated by EMS personel for non-life threatening injuries.

Twaites was taken by ambulance to Mercy One Hospital in Oelwein for treatment.

Both vehicles were totaled; the accident remains under investigation.
