Man Rolls ATV While Pulling a Trailer with a Mower

A Delaware County man was injured, when his ATV rolled while he was hauling a mower.

The accident happened at about 10:30am Friday, on 150th Street, west of Ryan. 42 year old Matthew Ries of Ryan was driving an ATV northbound on 150th Street, pulling a trailer.

A lawn mower on the trailer shifted weight, causing Ries to lose control. His ATV went into the ditch and rolled, ejecting Ries. He was taken to Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids by Lifeguard helicopter.

There was no indication of the severity of Ries' injuries.

The Iowa State Patrol covered the accident, with assistance from the Delaware County Sheriff, and Ryan Fire and Rescue.
