Man Puts Car in Ditch; Man is Put in Jail

An area man has been arrested on several charges, after crashing his car into a ditch.

At about 1pm Thursday (June 15), the Fayette County Sheriff was alerted of a vehicle in the ditch at the intersection of "M" Avenue and 130th Street, which is just north of Maynard.

Investigating officers found that 35 year old Joshua Levendusky of Oelwein had put his vehicle into the ditch, and was attempting to get the car out, with the help of 35 year old James Reuther of Independence.

Levendusky was not injured; but he was arrested on charges of Driving While Revoked, Failure to Maintain Control, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Reuther, who was helping retrieve the wrecked car, was also cited, for having a suspended driver's license.

He then had a valid driver come get him, and his vehicle.
